I started off as an independent adjuster with Crawford and Company back in 2002, which began my insurance journey. After a few years with them, I went to work with Travelers insurance and grew into handling more commercial policies. Traveler's went through a reorg, which left me getting let go but quickly hired by another independent firm. There, I handled more high net worth claim for a carrier, Fireman's Fund Insurance. They reached out to me as they liked my work product and offered me a high net worth adjuster role. I was able to handle larger, more complex claims and also larger commercial claims involving hotels and condos. Six years or so into that role, they were sold off to Chubb insurance and another reorg, letting go of a lot of staff. I switched careers slightly, becoming an estimator and project manager for a restoration company. This path then lead me to working for on-line real-estate companies such as Opendoor and Zillow, where I would write reconstruction estimates and then manager the job from start to finish. Given the nature of that industry and the inconsistency, I decided to rejoin the insurance world and that brought me to PPA.
